From Vision to Reality
In 2015, Jane Does Well was founded as a result of our firsthand experiences of the isolation and overwhelming challenges that come with divorce. As we both navigated unknown territory, we discovered many women in our larger community facing similar experiences.
A key insight we realized was that, when confronting divorce, a woman is in danger of losing hope if they can’t find the emotional support and knowledge of others who can empathize with their situation.
Since its inception, Jane Does Well has been committed to answering the call from hundreds of women seeking discretion as they journey through the process of divorce. In the early stages, we focused on sharing information and support over lunch and evening meetups with small groups of women.
By 2018 and with a growing community, we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit establishing the organization as a trusted source of comfort, support, hope and expertise for an ever-increasing number of women and mothers experiencing divorce across the Greater Boston area, North and South Shores.

With the help of other women who share our vision and belief in our mission, and as our community continues to grow with more than 1700 members spanning several towns throughout Massachusetts (now including other states), we’re both honored and humbled to do our part to improve the emotional and physical well-being of every one of our members.
While we know that our individual stories are sacred, complicated and entirely our own, we all share a love, respect and appreciation for each other and our individual journey. Jane Does Well exists and thrives today because we are committed to making a difference for every woman we touch through the efforts of our organization.
