Massachusetts child support amounts are woefully inadequate and do not meet the needs of the Commonwealth’s children. For the last decade, child support amounts have been continually reduced at the same time custodial parents face ever-increasing costs of housing, childcare and health care. Jane Does Well specializes in “sistering.” The verb originated in the construction industry and refers to the process by which a joist – a wooden or steel that typically supports a floor or ceiling – is strengthened. By attaching a new piece of frame to the original joist, builders can double the joist’s capacity, enabling it to withstand a heavier load.
