Ready to date? This support group is designed to offer encouragement and emotional support to JDW members who are either currently dating or preparing to date. We will share our dating “delights”, “disasters” and “dilemmas” along with our collective wisdom about how to best navigate the emotional ups and downs of post-divorce dating. We will also discuss chapters from the book, How Not to Die Alone: The Surprising Science That Will Help You Find Love, by Logan Ury.

Diane Anderson is the Director of Wellness for JDW. She is an ordained UCC pastor, having earned her MDiv. degree at Andover Newton Theological School and is also certified in Spiritual Direction from Boston College and Positive Psychology from The Kripalu Center on Lenox, MA.  Diane is currently working towards her certification in Mindfulness Meditation. Diane went through a traumatic divorce herself in 2014 and has developed an interest in all subjects related to post-traumatic growth and healing.

Hindell Straus Grossman:  Hindell has successfully negotiated, litigated and arbitrated hundreds of cases on behalf of her clients. Several of her successes have been published in Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly and she has been featured in the Needham Tab, Boston Business Journal and the Boston Globe. Hindell began her legal career at a small Boston firm and then started her own Boston firm four years later. She moved Grossman & Associates to Newton in 1999, and maintains offices on Nantucket and in Hingham.

David M. Bilodeau is a partner at Goldstein & Bilodeau. Prior to that he was an Associate at GERW and before that he practiced with Howard Goldstein at Rosenberg, Freedman & Goldstein LLP for three years. He originally began at RFG as a law clerk while attending Suffolk University Law School and became an Associate after graduating in 2011. David focuses his practice in domestic relations litigation with expertise in business valuation. Before law school, David worked in the private sector for several years as a physicist for an X-ray fluorescence company. Faith traditions such as Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity offer spiritual practices and rituals that can help us heal and help us tap into our own inner wisdom as we decide what paths to take in the future. This group will explore healing practices and rituals from a variety of religious traditions. We will also grapple with questions such as…. Where is God in the midst of an ugly divorce?... How does one have faith during hard times?... What do the various faith traditions say about forgiveness? Join us for this time of spiritual healing.

It is moving and heart-warming and an important reminder of the power of community, self-compassion and resilience.

WOW #2 – Post Traumatic Support Group For Members Who Are Divorced

 

 

This support group is for women who have completed their divorces and are transitioning to new lives as single women. Although it is up to the individual to discern if her divorce qualified as traumatic, traumatic divorces typically include one or more of the 4 A’s - Abuse (physical, emotional or financial), Addiction, Affair or Abandonment. Members will meet weekly to share their experiences in a safe space that offers validation, compassion and confidentiality. The group will also discuss chapters from the newly released book, Light on the Other Side of Divorce: Discovering the New You, by Dr. Elizabeth Cohen. 

*Although this group offers emotional support, it is not meant to take the place of therapy.

Diane Anderson is the Director of Wellness for JDW. She is an ordained UCC pastor, having earned her MDiv. degree at Andover Newton Theological School and is also certified in Spiritual Direction from Boston College and Positive Psychology from The Kripalu Center on Lenox, MA.  Diane is currently working towards her certification in Mindfulness Meditation. Diane went through a traumatic divorce herself in 2014 and has developed an interest in all subjects related to post-traumatic growth and healing.

We will share our dating “delights”, “disasters” and “dilemmas” along with our collective wisdom about how to best navigate the emotional ups and downs of post-divorce dating. We will also discuss chapters from the book, How Not to Die Alone: The Surprising Science That Will Help You Find Love, by Logan Ury.

It can also be an amazing opportunity for personal discovery and growth. Join us as we explore a variety of  practices and strategies that promote what is known as "post traumatic growth". We will draw from the fields of Positive Psychology, Mindfulness Meditation and Interfaith Spirituality.

WOW Holiday Support For Traumatic Divorce Support During The Holidays

This group meets once before Thanksgiving and once between Hanukkah and Christmas to offer support and encouragement to those dealing with the particular divorce challenges that present themselves during the holidays.
