Silver Linings is a new support group for women who are 60+, with adult “launched” children, whose 25+ year marriages either have or are in the process of ending.
The mission of this group is to help women navigate the specific challenges associated with the ramifications of a “Gray Divorce” and move forward with their lives.
Silver Linings will initially consist of five sessions offered on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month via Zoom from 7:00-9:00 p.m., and will be limited to 12 participants.

Group sessions will be co-led by Sue Fertig and Judith Emanuel, JDW members who although have no professional expertise, have dealt with many of the scheduled discussion topics.
A note from Judith and Sue:
We are not ‘experts’ but believe that our combined experience will enable us to effectively facilitate this effort.
Each session will have a specific topic, identified ahead of time, so that women can join when relevant to them.
The group will not be a place to address trauma and seeks to explore possible strategies for moving forward.
This group should not be used in place of therapy.
Group sessions discussion topics:

March 21: Managing Changing Finances

April 4: Planning for Retirement

April 18: Dating at this stage of life

May 2: Adult children and grandchildren; how to handle holidays and family events.

May 16: Dealing with the loss of what we assumed our lives would be at this age. How to heal, find closure and reinvent/redeem ourselves as older single women in society and with family and friends.
